Sneak Peek Time! NEW Moxxie Lines Are Coming Soon!

It's that time again, CHA is right around the corner and within the next few weeks we will be buried under sneak peeks and product reveals! I love this, seriously it is so fun to see new things and imagine what I would do with them. Do you do that too??

Today I'm going to share the first three sneak peeks from Moxxie. I think these lines are going to be HUGE hits! Not only are they gorgeous, but the papers are the perfect weight and double-sided which makes creating with them EASY.

So here we go, first up, a Very Merry UNBirthday to you! Aren't these colors and patterns amazing?

Next we have the gorgeous Winterland line, the soft blues and purples are perfect here!

And last but certainly NOT least, is All Hallows Eve. I'm a Halloween girl, and the colors, patterns, and details in this line are incredible. Yep, I think I have a new favorite Halloween collection!

If you think those are fabulous, you better hold on to your hats because Moxxie has THREE more new lines to share. So, stay tuned!

Weekend projects!

This weekend we went camping! When we camp, it's pretty basic. We get the sites with one picnic table, a fire ring, and an electrical post. This way we can have a fan if needed and a radio. With temps in the upper 80's, the fan was definitely neccessary! We picked our campsite early Saturday morning, then set up the site and went down to the private camper's beach for a few hours. By the time we got back, it was time to get the fire and dinner going.

Through all of this, I brought along a small scrapbook kit just in case I got some time to myself to create. I am surprised that I actually found the time to finish one page! I brought along some awesome Moxxie products. I used the "At The Beach" collection to make this page:

Sunday morning we came home and quickly got everything put away. The kids decided they wanted to go to the community pool, and daddy wanted to take them, so I got a few hours of freedom to play around. I pulled some Lily Bee papers to scrap a cute picture of my son at the beach..

Boy In A Tree

I played around today with lots of paint and fun techniques. I had a photo that was perfect for experimentation, perfect for a joyful layout...

I drew a tree by hand onto some cardstock, then I traced it onto some tree bark paper from the Crate Paper Peppermint collection. I layered a photo of my son in a tree into the patterned paper branches. Accented with Prima leaves, bird nest, and a Basically Bare Bird, this layout springs to life joyfully!

Memorial Day: Remember The Price Of Freedom

It's a long holiday weekend here in the United States. Memorial Day is Monday, and it's a day to remember. For many, this might just be a three day weekend filled with pool parties and barbecues. The truth is, however, far more sobering than that. Much like Independence Day, this is a time to reflect. Today you have a right to work in any field you choose. You can pretty much say whatever you want. You can practice any religion you like. You can live anywhere you want to. These are freedoms that every American citizen enjoys and your rights are fiercly protected. Why? Because many times before, this country has faced global conflict. We joined in wars, and it was the right thing to do. We stopped those who were narrow-minded, those whom would have taken away the freedoms of ours and others. We have helped many a country, along with ourselves. Today, if you enjoy a beautiful and peaceful life, you really need to thank those who gave their lives for you to do so. No, you don't need to be sad all day, but you do need to remember the price of freedom...

Today we took a trip to the Field of Heroes in Westerville, OH. There are 2,500 American flags placed in rows here, each honoring a fallen American Hero. The mood here is powerful. All you hear is the wind whipping through the flags, and sometimes, you swear you hear silent sobbing. I took many photos today, and while they cannot actually capture the environment and mood, I think they hit pretty darn close. I scrapped one of my favorites using Hometown Celebration from Moxxie. I think the papers perfectly matched the mood of my picture..

I hope you enjoy this long holiday weekend and take a brief moment to thank a veteran. They gave their all, and we need to support them with our love and pride. Happy Memorial Day weekend to all, be safe. Special thanks to George W. Price and George R. Price...

Teacher Thank You Cards

I cannot believe that today is my son's last day of preschool! In the fall he'll be heading to kindergarden, my how fast they grow! Since it was his last day, I had to come up with a good thank you gift for his teachers. A few weeks ago I sent some "prettied up" flower flats to my daughter's school for Teacher Appreciation Week. I liked them and decided to do the same thing. These are very easy and inexpensive. They are also a big hit!

For the flowers, simply use Fabri Tac or a glue gun to adhere jute to the plastic flat. Apply adhesive to it as you wrap the jute around the base. Hold it in place for a minute and it will stay put. Pretty that up with some ribbon tied in a bow. For the cards, I used Child's Play from Moxxie. This line is fun and playful, and perfect for a teacher gift! I made the cards small and adhered a popsicle stick to the back so they could be inserted into the soil of the plants.

On the inside, my son signed his name. He loved giving these to his teachers today!

Got Game?

My son absolutely loves to game and he's pretty good too! I used Echo Park's A Boy's Life collection pack to scrap this pic of him playing this morning. It's my first time using this paper, and I love it! I also had to get some Basically Bare on there, so I covered some Bare Basics Gears with the papers. I used clouds and sun from the Celestial Set to make the sky. For the background, I had fun with paints and gesso.

A Life Devoid Of Color...

Is no life at all...

Happy Saturday to you! I have had this layout in my head for quite awhile and today was the day to get it down on paper! My daughter is a sweet, smart, spectacular girl. I see so many good things in her, she is destined for great things! I want to tell her NOT to play it safe. She needs to go for it, give it her all on every occasion and no matter what she does. I think this page really does speak to that message..

As you can see, I played with rainbow colors here. The frame is a Basically Bare Fanciful Frame, you KNOW I love those! ;)
