Earlier this year I stumbled upon many blogs talking about
The Erosion Project. Basically, you take papers, fabrics, ribbons, anything you like, and bundle them all together. Then you set them outside and leave them there for Mother Nature to have her way with them. After three or six months, or even more if you can stand the wait, you unwrap your bundle to reveal how the elements decayed and distressed them. Then, you have fun creating with the pretties inside....
Well, I knew I wanted to do this, but I set it aside for another day. I kept doing that, until I forgot about it completely. Then today, out of the blue, a voice in my head screamed out "EROSION BUNDLE! GO MAKE ONE NOW!" Never wanting to upset said voices, I set right to work, gathering fun things from my stash. I layered 12x12 papers from Graphic 45, Tim Holtz, and K & Company with all kinds of fabulous things. Cardboard, lace, washers, keys, mesh, sheet music, ornamental grass... I had the idea to splash some coffee around, and I even tossed Luminart powders into the mix. I think my favorite item is an entire Jenni Bowlin Mini Chipboard Book..
Here are the photos I've taken of my bundle. I have her wedged between two branches, then firmly tied to, my apple tree. I tell you, I cannot wait until early next summer.
