My son got a Razor bike for his fifth birthday a few weeks ago. He rides it ALL the time and looks so cute doing so! Today I scrapped one of my favorite photos of him on the bike. I think he just looks like a cool dude, lol. I built this layout on a die cut paper from We R Memory Keepers. I applied some paint first, then added the photo, some red stars, and a few chipboard gears from Basically Bare. I love the fun feel of this page!
What did YOU scrap today??

Sunday is RAK day!
So today I did some reorganizing of my scrappy storage and I stumbled upon a ton of chipboard pieces. I've had these awhile, and while I love them, I don't see myself "needing" them anytime soon. I figured it would be best to pass these along to someone who would really love and use them. Is that someone YOU?
I have a ton to give away, so I decided to split it up. Here are the details: I am giving away TWO RAKs of random chipboard shapes. You will not be able to choose which set you receive, let me choose for you! Here are some pictures..
Set one..
Set two..
All you have to do is leave a comment here for me by Monday, March 19th 2012 and you'll be in the running for one of TWO RAKs! I will be drawing names on Tuesday the 20th for the winners...
But WAIT! There is MORE! If I get to 30 comments I'll be throwing in yet ANOTHER RAK! Cool, right? I told ya, I have a TON to give away! Here's a pic of RAK number three..
So get out there and help spread the word on this RAK via facebook, your blog, twitter, anything you can think of. Remember, if I get thirty comments there are THREE chances to win and those are great odds! Are you in?! Happy Sunday my friends and good luck!!

Saturday crafting tip!
Today I am lucky....
I get the whole day and night to myself! My kids are having a sleepover at their grandparents' house so I have been able to play all day long, with no interuptions! So, I thought it would be fun to do a "tip" post today for you..
Do you have a love affair with patterned paper? Do you buy four or more of each style you love just so you will never have to go without it? I am so guilty of this. You know what else I do? I will pick up a piece of "coveted" patterned paper and some scissors, and then balk at the thought of cutting into it. How could I do such a thing? Seriously, there are papers out there so gorgeous that cutting them just might count as a crime against nature. So, what to do in such a situation?
Honestly, you have to weigh the pros and cons, and let the "pros" win out. Take this gorgeous double-sided paper from Graphic 45. This is "Genuine Article" from the "Olde Curiosity Shoppe Collection".. I fell in love with the butterflies first, but I love the opposite side just as much. I bought two of these, and told myself that for just one of them, it would be alright to cut into it. It took a few pep talks, but eventually I did start cutting it. I cut out all the butterflies and dragonflies and I am so happy I did. I now have a little bag of fun embellies ready to go when I scrap. Look how fabulous they look!
These are extra fabulous because you can use glimmer mist, ink, or paint to custom color them to match any layout. I used Turquoise Blue glimmer mist to color mine for the page I created today. Don't they look amazing??

Basically Bare News, And A HUGE Prize Too!
Ridiculously Humongous Prize Alert! Keep reading for details!
It's a drab Monday morning here in Ohio, but regardless of the weather I'm starting my week off with awesome news! You know I love Basically Bare, right? I've been working with them for six months, and I have enjoyed every single moment of it. They recently announced a design team call, and I am so very honored to say that I have made it into the "Final Exam" round! Now, I've been out of school for a long time. A really long time. Tests used to make me nervous, so I hope I do well today!
For my "Final Exam" I am going to share with you my three favorite Basically Bare products. While I love them all, there are certain things I find myself using over and over.
Signature Series-Fanciful Frames
It should come as no surprise that these land on my top three list. The Fanciful Frames set is one of three I designed for Basically Bare and it was released last summer. Why do I love them though? A package of these frames can take you so many places. They are not just for framing up photos, you can do a title or journaling in them. You can layer several together, using different colors and techniques to make something ornate and magical. The truth is, these are a must have in my stash, and I never want to run out of them!
Bare Basics Gears
Ahhh, Bare Basics Gears, where have you been all my life? These beauties just make me smile! I love to dabble with Steampunk from time to time, and these gears are an absolute no-brainer for that! I have used them for heritage and "passage of time" projects as well. I love having these on hand when I am scrapping photos of my four year old son, they are a fabulous boy embellie!
Bare Basics Buttons
Let's face it: EVERYONE likes buttons. In fact, if you don't, I'm not sure you're human! I jest, I jest! But let's be real here for a minute. We all have buttons in our stash. Heck, I know some people who hoard them and might just need some professional help. (They know who they are, hee hee.) The best part about Bare Basics Buttons is that you can customize these to fit your exact needs. Use patterned paper, paint, or ink. Distress them with scissors and sandpaper, dry emboss them, heat emboss them, run over them with your car... Well, OK, that might be a little crazy, but hey! That is what scrapping is about for me, and I need ample amounts of these buttons on hand in order to be happy.
Where to buy Basically Bare? Check out Scrapbook.com today!
Now, I bet you want to hear about this prize I mentioned way up at the top of my post, right? All of the Basically Bare design team finalists are doing "Final Exam" blog posts like mine here. One lucky commenter from all of those posts will be chosen by Basically Bare to win a ridiculous prize package!
WHAT DO YOU WIN??
The ENTIRE Basically Bare CHA Winter release! That's right, ALL the new albums and ALL the new embellishment sets!
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?
Just leave a comment right here on this blog post by MARCH 15th. The winner will be announced the next day, so keep an eye on Basically Bare's Facebook page. (Hey, while you're there, go ahead and "Like" them!)
