Globecraft & Piccolo Mini Key Border

Today I'm going to show you a quick tip for using Globecraft & Piccolo Miniature Keys. They are perfect accents for heritage and vintage layouts.

Supplies:
G&P Miniature Keys
G&P Glastique Gloss
G&P 24K Gold Embossing Powder
Moxxie Musically Inclined Paper
May Arts Ribbons and Trim

To begin, I decided to leave some of the keys in their "raw" or natural state. I thought this would make a lovely contrast to the pieces I chose to emboss with G&P 24 K Gold Embossing powders.

Then I made a layout with a layered ribbon and trim border. Using G&P Glastique Gloss as an adhesive, I placed the keys on the border and used an "every other" pattern between the embossed and raw pieces.

All that was left was to add a photo and finish the page!

Today I am sharing a layout made with Musically Inclined. My daughter was a narrator in her second grade musical last month. They performed The Nutcracker Suite, and all the kids did so well! This line is perfect for the pictures I captured from the performance.

The Search For The Perfect Christmas Tree..

Thanksgiving weekend I took my kids to a local tree farm to select and cut our own Christmas tree. This is a fun tradition to start and documenting our trip was a must. I used some fabulous Globecraft & Piccolo products to help capture the memory!

Supplies:

G&P Glastique Gloss Finishing Glaze
G&P Extra Large Layered Pine Tree
G&P Mini Clear Globes
G&P Siam Silver Enamel Powder
G&P Vintage Silver Enamel Powder
G&P Mossy Glen Enamel Powder
Simple Stories Christmas Paper
My Mind's Eye "All Is Bright" Twine
Memento Fireworks Sprays

To make a fun and unique background, I used the bookboard piece that the Extra Large Layered Pine Tree came enclosed in as a mask. A  few sprays of mist and I made a bit of a "forest" backdrop.

After covering the tree pieces with patterned papers and embossing the edges with Siam Silver and Vintage Silver Enamel Powders, I built it onto the masked background. I used Glastique Gloss Finishing Glaze to adhere the pieces together.

I printed some photos I loved from the trip and traced some Mini Clear Globe shapes onto them, then cut them out.

The pictures were adhered to patterned paper, the globes were glued on top, and twine was placed over the edges. I cut them out of the paper and they were ready to place on the tree.

After adding the photos, the layout was quickly finished with some alpha stickers.

Basically Bare and Xyron Fun!

Basically Bare and Xyron are swapping this week!

I was very excited to work with the Xyron Create-a-Sticker. It makes adhering Basically Bare chipboard a breeze! All you have to do is place the pieces onto the Create-a-Sticker, crank the handle, and you will have a sticker. The adhesive is strong, and your embellishments will not fall off of the page, trust me!

Here is a star from the Basically Bare Celestial Set going through the Create-a-Sticker..

Too easy, right? I had my layout finished and embellished in record time thanks to the Xyron Create-a-Sticker!

It's The Little Things That Matter..

This Thanksgiving I'm doing my best to remember that it really is the little things that matter the most. We have had a tough autumn in this house, and as the holidays have quickly approached I actually have not been in the mood for celebrating. But I am thankful for what I do have, and I hope that no matter how difficult things may be for all of my friends and family out there that they can also focus on those simple pleasures. This layout of my son featuring Moxxie's Musically Inclined collection touches on one of the things I am thankful for. My little guy knows how to slow down and enjoy the little things, and I intend to do the same! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
