Shabby little frame

The weekend is here! YAY! I am enjoying a "free" weekend, as the kiddos went to their grandparents' house for a sleepover. I started my scrappy day by altering a frame for a Facebook swap with friends. We had to buy one of those inexpensive dollar frames that most craft stores have, and alter it WITHOUT using a specific theme.

I found a cute 8 x 8 frame that fit the bill for 97 cents. Can't beat that price! I used gesso and newspaper to cover it, then coated the entire thing with plenty of Mod Podge. Love the effect! I went with one of my favorite color combos on this: Turquoise, yellow, and green. I added a journaling spot as well, figuring that whomever receives this baby will appreciate that I allowed for a small place to personalize it to suit their chosen photo. I really hope this makes someone happy, and I cannot wait to see the frame I will be getting in return!

This frame is so pretty.
I really like that banner and that you used a journal spot.
You know I have never used gesso yet. I bought some a few months ago, but haven't even cracked the seal.
