New albums are coming!!!!!

I'm excited to tell you that My Acrylic Album has not one,not two,but TWELVE new albums being released on December first!! You will want to see these beauties! I'm very thankful to get the opportunity to work with some of the new designs and want to share them with you!

First up,this is the new stocking album. This was a delight to work with! The front cover has an oval cut out of it,and yes,you do receive the oval piece with the album. I used mine on the back of the cover,to add to the layering of the first page. Making Memories generously donated product from their Fa La La line for this album,so I packed as much MM goodness as I could into it!

The next album I have to share is called "O Christmas Tree",I think! This album, can I tell you,is HUGE! A vertical 4x6 photo can easily fit on each page. I used wallet sized photos,so you can clearly see there is a lot of room for pictures, journaling, and embellishments. I have been listening to Christmas music lately, and when I heard "Silver and Gold" for the first time this season,it inspired me to use that color scheme on the album. This was a difficult album to photograph,it is very shiny and bright in person. I feel these pictures don't really do the album justice. If you put this album in the sunlight,it will blind you! I had a ton of fun with it and I feel it's very elegant and a great way to display Christmas photos!

Love these ornaments!

I found these wooden sled ornaments at Michaels and had to get them! They were in a bin marked 75 cents, but actually rang up at 60 cents, which was even better! I used paint and crackle medium on them, and then ran my TH walnut stain ink pad over them to make them appear aged. These were so easy to do,and remind of a simpler time. I can't wait to put these on my tree!

Time for Christmas cards!

I've got my cards started for the year,I'll probably end up making twenty or so,and I like to make them all different! I love giving/getting handmade cards. I know some people don't,so I only give them to those who will appreciate them. How about you? If you would like to exchange cards with someone who would treasure it,I would love to do it. Just leave me a comment with your email included, and we'll get it set up!

A green Christmas ornament

Christmas is on it's way, every year it seems to arrive more quickly than the last. I enjoy making my own ornaments and add several to my homemade collection each season. I have several empty Doodlebug sugar coating jars around, and was inspired to make an ornament with one.

I first filled the jar with flaked "glitter",which really looks like snow. I colored the lid with stream alcohol ink and also used it to color around some white snowflake and flourish rub ons. I let them dry for about thirty minutes before rubbing onto the jar. The effect is a bi-color rub on. The little tag is cut from a left over sheet of grungeboard, then colored with the alcohol ink before writing "Magic Christmas snow" on it. I removed the lid of the jar, tied the ribbon and fiber around the neck, and put the lid back on. This was so simple, and I can't wait to put this on my tree. I'm sure the lights will light up the glitter inside the jar!

Yikes I've been busy!

It's just been such a hectic month around here! Lots of running around with the kids, and scheduling in all those fun family trips. We've done our apple and pumpkin picking, and boy did I get a lot of pictures! I've been busy with DT work, and made this cute little mini brag tag album with tiny tags from My Acrylic album. I carry this in my purse and happily show it to friends and strangers alike! I kept the plastic bag the tags came in,and put the album inside of it to help protect it.

A fun layout...

I made today of my daughter. She was a good sport when I asked her to look at her hand a few days ago during a quick photo shoot. I wanted to use a key from my package of grungeboard and thought of the title "You hold the key to my heart". I think it worked out well! I sprayed tattered angels glimmer mist on the heart doily,I'm really loving that stuff lately!

I just LOVE this.......

I'm talking about Bo Bunny's new Beautiful Life collection. I got some yesterday and had to play IMMEDIATELY! I ended up with this, and it just might be my favorite layout to date! The photo is my little guy,and it's printed on transparency, then backed with white cardstock. I also used grungeboard for the first time...Can you say YUMMY! I used layers of paint, ink, and glitter paint on the pieces.
