Fun and easy ribbon ornament!
Yes, another ornament, LOL! Told you I loved to make them! This one was simple. I started with a 4x4 piece of Bazzill chipboard and adhered my photo to it. Then I applied ribbon strips all the way around the piece and decorated with buttons, leaves, and berries. It looks so good on my tree with the other ornaments I've made!
A new journey begins...

"Joy" Christmas ornament
I make several picture ornaments for my tree every year. I know someday when my children have grown and settled into their own lives that I will be able to have a tree dedicated solely to them. It will be an amazing feeling to watch them grow up all over again in these baubles I've made.
My first for this year is rather large, over 15" in completed length. I used wooden letters and gave them the crackle paint treatment before inking and decorating. The middle "O" was the perfect place for a sweet picture of my son in the snow taken in January of this year. We put up our tree yesterday and all the ornaments, including this one, look gorgeous!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Yes, it's that beautiful time of year when the holidays descend upon us. We gather with family and friends and count our blessings. Today, I am of course thankful for family, and a few very special friends who have really helped me out lately....
I had a virtual memory problem on my computer, which was extremely old, and couldn't afford to fix it. My friend and coworker Mark and his wife Wendy decided to GIVE me one of their computers. REALLY! It is my Christmas present, and I got it early as my computer was truly gasping for it's last breath. I cannot repay such generosity, but I tell you it has opened my eyes to the true spirit of friendship and love and I will pay it forward in kind acts as much as I possibly can. What are you thankful for?

A pretty fall display, now hanging on my wall!
I love those cool grapevine wreaths that can be found in stores aplenty this time of year. I picked one up several weeks ago with the intention of just decorating it, but I realized there was potential to go even further than that. Why couldn't I use the wreath to frame a 12x12 layout? The answer of course, is that I could, and should, do exactly that if it would make me happy. Well, it did make me happy, and I think it turned out amazing. Have a peek...
So how did I do it? I started with a 12x12 cardboard sheet, so it would be sturdy enough to withstand the adhesive I planned on using to attach the wreath. I placed the wreath on top of the cardboard where I wanted it to be, and lifting it up slighty, I used a marker to lightly trace a circle. Now that the visable area of the 12x12 sheet had been determined, I made my layout. When completed, I used Zip Dry to adhere the wreath. I applied the Zip Dry liberally on the outside edges of the circle I had traced, placed the wreath on top, and pressed down on it for a few minutes. I tied some ribbon on, and attached the bow with Zip Dry as well. I allowed at least one hour of drying time before hanging it up on my living room wall. I love it! If you like this, you should definitely give it a try!

My favorite season has arrived!
Yes, beautiful Autumn is upon us, and I couldn't be happier! Last weekend we visited our favorite pumpkin patch at DairyMel farm. They have a beautiful place, and wonderful prices on pick-your-own pumpkins. We got MONSTER pumpkins for five dollars each! Our weather was perfect and I got so many fabulous pictures! I've also been scrapping fall pics to celebrate the season. Here are a few recent layouts, the last one featuring a pic from from this past weekend!

My favorite new find, and a layout to boot!
I love it when I pick up a new treasure. These treasures need not necessarily be new, just something I am finally trying out. A few days ago, I ventured into my local Michael's store. The buzz over at Scrapbook.com was that M's was totally rearranging their scrappy stock, and getting in new and amazing paper packs. As a scrapper, I should have a LOAD of patterned papers, but in reality, I don't feel I really have that much of a variety, so the idea of new paper packs completely thrilled me. At M's, I stumbled upon so many new paper collections, that I became quite giddy! I saw many I liked and wanted, but when I picked up the "Complete Boy" stack from My Mind's Eye, I was instantly in love. Yes, it has boy papers in it. The traditional stripes, dots, arrows, stars, and circles are included, BUT the stack is also full of so many versatile papers! It is perfect for heritage, family, heck, I could even eek out some CHRISTMAS layouts from this stack! With 180 sheets, this baby is sure to be a staple in my stash for quite some time, and I am thrilled about that! Here's my first layout using the stack, all pp's are from it, and you can see, it isn't a "boy" layout at all!
Do you admit it?
Do you love the smell of paper? Do feel all giddy when you get your hands on a new paper pack, and you just can't help yourself?....You lean over....You......SNIFF!! Well, I admit to it, LOL!! Here I am checking out my new Basic Grey distressed cardstock....HAHAHAHA! C'mon, who's with me??!!! (Oh, it smells FAB!!)

It's beach time!!!!
Summertime brings one of my favorite things: trips to the beach. My kids went to the beach with their dad several days ago, and were taped by a news crew that was reporting on SPF/sun protection. I DVR'd the news that night, and sure enough, my sweeties were on TV! I loved a shot of them feeding the seagulls, so I paused the scene I wanted and then photographed the TV. Although it was a bit pixelated, I managed to clean it up enough in Picasa to end up with a great picture. Of course I had to scrap it too!

Now THAT'S a butterfly!!
As an avid scrapper, I am always on the lookout for new embellishments when shopping. Occasionally I find something spectacular, that isn't meant for scrapbooking. My latest find is a massive butterfly, found at Kroger's grocery store. This baby is beautiful, and comes on a wooden stake. I imagine it's intended for the garden, but why you would want to put it outside is beyond me. It is felt after all! The moment I saw it, I thought of an acrylic album I had in my stash. I knew it would really rock on the cover, IF it would fit!
Well, I bought it, brought it home, and found it to be just the right size for my album. The album is "Perfect postage", from My Acrylic Album. To get an idea of the size of this butterfly, the album it adorns is 8x8! Now THAT is a butterfly!!!

It has everything you need to work with the inks, and I have worked up an easy to follow photo tutorial to get your creativity flowing! Here's my project, I truly love how it turned out and it is something I will always treasure..

Don't you HATE when this happens??
Life is hectic for all of us, I know, but occasionally I'll get this vision of a project or layout that just takes over. It won't go away, no matter how hard I try to ignore it. It's there, forcing itself upon me, and not letting me create anything else until I listen to it. Well, my most recent layout did this to me, bothering me for days before I finally gave in. I always have a fear, that my visions just won't translate properly to paper and glue. This one, I am around 95% happy with. I call that a success, because now it's out of my head, and I can move on! Have you ever experienced this??
